Bat Mitzvah Photos!

Sorry it took me so long to get these to you! My Bat Mitzvah was in March, but I have had so many other things I wanted to tell you about. If you aren’t sure what a Bat Mitzvah is, here is the definition:

Now, I could spend hours and hours and paragraphs and paragraphs telling you what it was like, but why don’t I just show you! Get ready for some MAJOR scrolling, because we hired a professional photographer, so there are a BUTTLOAD of photos! (By the way, my Bat Mitzvah was in the Rosenthals’ backyard because it is pretty big space and really pretty!)

Just so you know, I uploaded these photos in no particular order. My parents surprised me after the service by bringing out barbeque from one of my favorite restaurants called Reverend’s BBQ! They called it a Bat-BQ!

And as I promised, Actor Of The Week!

Terry Crews!

Terry Crews has been in many movies including Deadpool 2, The Willoughbys, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, Bridesmaids, The Expendables, and Blended! He has also been in an AWESOME show called Brooklyn Nine-Nine! Sound familiar? *cough cough!

Finally, here is an SNL skit! Enjoy!

-Grace

P.S. I am sorry about the delay in these posts. Some of you wrote to me, saying that you got an email of a new post but there wasn’t any new content on the site when you got there. I posted them, but then had to take them back down because none of the photos had loaded! I hope you enjoy the posts, though!

School Is Back In Session!

School isn’t back in session for me or Hazel, yet. No, no, no. I am talking about Doc. That’s right folks, Doc started his FIRST day of school yesterday!!! The entire family got in the car at 8:00AM on Monday morning, with Kim (Doc’s nanny) driving in her own car right behind us, and we dropped Doc off. Okay well we didn’t EXACTLY drop him off, because a drop-off is considered to be a quick get-outta-the-car-and-into-the-school type thing. We all went and peeked into his classroom, and took pictures of Doc with his teacher, Miss Kristen, that are sure to come up when he graduates high school. Doc pretty much jumped around the entire time. No, seriously. Up the steps, through the halls, out of the car. He jumped the entire time. He had more energy than the time we let him have a whole bowl of ice cream and went on a sugar high. Speaking of Doc, this is a video (and some photos) I thought would be a good addition to the blog!

This is Doc right before he heads into school!

Now, I haven’t posted in 10 days. That’s one week and 3 days. About 1/3 of a month. Ten days is approximately .0274% of a year! A lot can happen in 10 days. For example, I went to Idaho about 1-1/2 weeks ago. We got the dogs from the eight-week board and train center they were at. (By the way, if I forgot to mention, both of my dogs went to an eight-week board and train.) Anyway, we went to Idaho for three days. The end.

Next, a few days ago, my dad, Hazel, and I went to Manzanita to get out of the heat wave. If you are wondering, Mom stayed home to work with the dogs on training, and to work on ROONS and Doc went with Kim and Pete to Cannon Beach. (More on that later.) We had A BLAST in Manzanita! We stayed in Todd and Felicia’s beach house. (Todd and Felicia are our super good friends who we podded with when the pandemic was particularly bad in the beginning.

These are pictures of Todd and Felicia:

Me and Felicia at my Bat Mitzvah!
Todd at my Bat Mitzvah Service!

We went to the beach, walked along to the ocean, and played in the sand. On the second day in Manzanita, Doc, Kim, and Pete (and their dog Milo), took us to the beach while my Dad was working. On the first and second morning of our stay in Manzanita, I made Kodiak Cake Mix Pancakes! They were REALLY good. Especially when you use milk, an egg, and a splash of vanilla! Then a few days later, Kim took me, Hazel, and Doc to Cannon Beach and we played A LOT in the water and went to the candy store for a treat!

Then, a few days later, we drove home. The End.

Okay, let’s get back to Doc. A few days ago, he and Mom made cupcakes!

Okay, okay! Don’t worry. I took photos!

Step #1: Make and Mix Batter:

Step #1.5: Mix Some More:

Step #2: Put Cupcakes in Tin, Bake, and Let Cool:

Step #3: Make Frosting (AND LICK THE WHISK)!

Step #4: Frost Cupcakes:

Step #5: Sprinkle Cupcakes:

Step #6: Enjoy!

Phew! I have really stuffed a lot into this post! Let’s take a break, and watch some SNL!

Upon request, I am going to play my friend India’s favorite skit!

And here is another skit, if you enjoy Pete Davidson!

Okay, It is becoming a workout to scroll through this post, so I will end it here. I have a bit more to talk about this week, so count on another post coming soon!

-Grace

P.S. You may have noticed that I didn’t do Actor Of The Week, but because this post is long and getting longer, you can expect it in the next post!

Buckle Your Seatbelt And Put On Your Blog-Reading Pants!

Buckle your seatbelts and put on your blog-reading pants (not necessarily in that order) because I have A LOT to talk about. Let’s check the list:

  1. Napa
  2. One-Pound Fish
  3. Bathroom Break
  4. One Of The Best TV Shows. Ever. I’m Not Joking. Get Ready To Be Obsessed.
  5. SNL
  6. Actor Of The Week

Whew. I got tired just typing that list! I’ve got to get ready for some SERIOUS hand cramps.

Alriiiiiiiighty then.

Topic #1, Napa.

I had a bunch of fun! I sat by the pool, swam with Doc (who can now successfully put his face in the water and swim a couple of feet), and soaked up as MUCH sun as possible. The weather was really nice, so almost every afternoon, I would pop in some earbuds, play music, and sit outside by the pool. I got to go to a small surprise get-together, for my Grandpa’s birthday. I only saw a few familiar faces, but I had fun chatting with them

I also got to see my Aunt and Uncle over breakfast! They were SUPER generous and got us gifts! I got a Dreamcatcher Making Kit, a VERY loud plastic pig that snorts, a book that looks like a Nancy Drew Book but is actually a notebook, and Sunglasses that play music! If I put them on, I can connect a device with bluetooth and play songs, or attach a microphone to someone and listen to what they are saying. On another note…

I got to go to the Jelly Belly Jelly Bean Factory! I saw how they got made, ate more Jelly Beans then fathomable, and saw portraits made with thousands of jellybeans!

Do you know what happens to Jelly Beans that that are too big, to small, misshapen, or stuck to other jelly beans? They get packaged up, and rebranded as Belly Flops. GENIUS, isn’t it!?

This is a Jelly Bean Portrait!

Topic #2

One-Pound Fish. This meme has been going around for a little while and FINALLY found its way to me. In a remix, no less. I hope you have a back-up pair of blog reading pants because you will pee your pants laughing! Enjoy!

Topic #3.

I have been talking for a while. Feel free to take a few minutes to go to the bathroom, get a snack, etc. Don’t worry, we can continue when you get back.

Topic #4!

I am REALLY excited to tell you about this TV show. When I was in Napa, I started an The Umbrella Academy. Based on a comic by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way, this show was one of Netflix’s top most-watched shows when it came out in February of 2019.

One day in 1989, 43 babies are born to random women around the world at the same time. That’s normal, right? Wrong. This is odd in the fact that these women were not pregnant the day before. Seven of these little babies are adopted by a (slightly eccentric) billionaire industrialist, Sir Reginald Hargreeves. Sir Reginald makes their home into the Umbrella Academy and prepares the children to save the world. Unfortunately, in their teenage years, the academy falls apart and they go their separate ways. Fast forward to 2019. The six surviving members of the academy come back together for their father’s funeral. Unfortunately, a global apocalypse and some not-so-friendly assassins pulls the siblings back into their crime-fighting life! I really hope you watch it! I would love to hear what you think about it if you’ve seen it, or have paused reading this to watch the first couple episodes. (Frankly, I don’t blame you.)

Okay, Topic #5! Today’s SNL Skit! There are a bunch of SNL Chad Skits, and this is one of my favorites! I hope you like it!

And finally, Actor Of The Week!

Elliot Page!

Elliot Page has been in some awesome TV shows and movies including The Umbrella Academy (what a coincidence, we were just talking about this!), X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Inception, My Days Of Mercy and more. Check out his other stuff in this link!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post! Now if you’ll excuse me, I am going to go finish Season 2 of Umbrella Academy! Have a wonderful day!

Happy 50th Blog Post!

That’s right folks! Today is No.50! I have shared stories about Doc, my dogs, Doc, and more! (Namely Doc.) Now you may be wondering why I haven’t posted sooner. That’s because I was on a rafting trip! I slept over at my friend Gabi’s house two Sundays ago, then at 6AM on Monday we drove five hours to the Grand Ronde River!

On the first day, we met up with some of Gabi’s family friends and rafted for about three miles (which took about 40 to 60 minutes. We swam for a bit and then set up camp. (Just so you know, the river is about 44 miles long.)

On Tuesday, we rafted for 19 MILES. We went about three miles per hour (with a few swim breaks in between), so we were on the water for about 6 to 7 HOURS! Unfortunately, throughout the trip, the water level would drop a few inches, so we got caught on A LOT of rocks and for the last few yards of the trip, we pretty much had to drag the raft.

On Wednesday, we decided to raft the last 21 miles. We ORIGINALLY planned to raft only 9 miles and set up our tents early, but we decided not to. With the water level dropping quickly, we would probably have to drag the raft more than paddle if we stayed until Thursday. We were VERY worn out by the end, so we packed up and started the 7-hour drive from the end of the river to Portland.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t take any photos because I would have been VERY upset if I lost my camera. When you go rafting, you have to bring anything you would be okay with losing. So in reality, I could have lied about all of it. If you REALLY want proof, there will be a LARGE water bill coming to my parents, because the hot shower I took when I got home was EPIC.

In OOOOOOOOOTHER news (I bet you all noticed how smooth that topic switch was), I want to wish an early Happy Birthday to my grandpa. I will be in Napa with “Poppy” and the rest of my family next week, so chances are, I will be too busy to post. I will try my best to get a post in more regularly, though. Anyway, Happy Birthday Poppy!

Unfortunately, Doc is sleeping, so I can’t get a video of him singing Happy Birthday, but there will be plenty of cuteness to blog about from Napa.

Poppy-I hope you have a WONDERFUL birthday. I appreciate all of the help, funny emails, and whipped-cream-fight threats (long story) that I have gotten from you over the years. Your birthday BETTER be full of fun or I will squirt whipped cream in your face. Just because it is your birthday DOESN’T mean I will go easy on you…

I ALSO have a cool video for you. Big surprise, it isn’t an SNL skit! (But I will have one of those later…)

And also SNL:

Finally, Actor Of The Week!

Zoe Saldana!

She is a great actor who has been in a bunch of awesome movies including Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, Star Trek, Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Book of Life, and Missing Link!

Have a great weekend!

A Bunch Of Random Stuff That Can Qualify As A Blog Post!

Hi there! Wowzah! We haven’t chatted in a WHILE. Not gonna lie, the last week has been chaotic. Fun, but really chaotic.

On Monday, we drove up to Bend, Oregon, to see our family friends, the Stovals. Well, we drove up on Monday so we could eat at a REALLY good restaurant called Jackson’s Corner. No, seriously, REALLY GOOD. I got AMAZING pepperoni pizza (I ate about 9/12 of the slices) and for dessert I got Stracciatella (STRAT-CHEE-UH-TELL-UH) gelato. Somehow, the gelato was EVEN TASTIER than the pizza.

THE END.

Haha, just kidding.

THEEEEEEEEEEEN…we went to our hotel and went to bed. Exciting, I know.

THE END.

Okay, okay, fine. I’ll stop with that.

Anyway, where were we? Ah yes. THEEEEEEEEEEEN…we went shopping on Tuesday morning. I got some new shoes and the Morty Zone (a Rick and Morty Board Game).

Then we saw the Stovals and went down to a river where we splashed in the water, ate a bunch of chocolate sweets (PLEASE NOTE: If you are my mom or dad, we only are ONE peanut butter cup and THREE chocolate pretzels), and then got really good kabobs, pita bread, and rice.

On Wednesday we went on a short hike. And also passed a farm that was selling alpacas. SUCH A MISSED OPPORTUNITY! Mom, Dad, if you are reading this I will hold a grudge for a WHILE. I mean, who wouldn’t want an alpaca named Alfonso! Anywho, the hike was fun, if you forget the part where we all sweated our brains out. Then we drove home. Three hours. One car. Two grown-ups, a teen, a tween, and a baby. It sounds like the scariest horror movie EVER. Thankfully, I survived…

In other news, my dad showed me this REALLY funny video about the history of the entire world! Yes, there IS a bit of cursing, so if you aren’t comfortable with that, you can skip it. I suggest watching it, though. It is HYSTERICAL!

Also, here are some of my favorite SNL kids’ doll ad skits!

Finally, it’s time for the moment you’ve been waiting for…

ACTOR OF THE WEEK!

Yay!

Patton Oswalt!

Patton has one of those faces, y’know? I feel like he has been in EVERYTHING!

If you want to get more specific, he has been in Teen Titans Go! To The Movies, Veronica Mars, Modak, Ratatouille, BoJack Horseman, The Secret Life Of Pets 2, Penguin Town, and more. Check out all of his other films and tv shows here!!!

Thanks for reading!

P.S. This weekend, it is supposed to get up to 111°F so yesterday, my parents used reusable plastic popsicle bags and Honest Kids juice to make homemade organic popsicles! The flavors are Grape, Fruit Punch, and Watermelon Lemonade! It is a super fun and easy recipe to make! You literally pour in a juice of your choice, let it freeze, and eat it quickly so that your siblings don’t ask for a bite. Sorry, that last step hit close to home. Have a great weekend!

LET THEM EAT CAKE! (And Blog About It, Too!)

Cake-una Matata (Please sing to the tune of Hakuna Matata.)

Cake!
What a wonderful phrase!
Cake!
Ain’t no passing craze! It means no worries!
For the rest of your days!
It’s our problem-free philosophy!
Cake!

Anyhoo, I have been thinking a lot about cake (which you could probably tell). What is the best amount of frosting, what is the best flavor, kind of cake, topping, etc.?

Though these questions are hard, I have come up with answers to all of them. Please note that these are opinions, and you can choose to love whichever cake you want. (Even if your opinion is wrong.)😜

Question: What is the best amount of frosting?

Answer: Not SO much that the cake tastes like a cake-flavored toothpaste slime ball, but not SO little that it tastes bare.

Question: What is the best flavor of cake?

Answer: Yellow. There IS a difference between YELLOW and VANILLA cake.

If you click THIS LINK, you can read about the differences between yellow, white, and vanilla cake.

Question: What is the best kind of cake?

Answer: Ice Cream Cake and Pound Cake.

Question: What is the best cake topping? (e.g., sprinkles, chocolate chips, toenails, etc.)

Answer: Sprinkles and MINI chocolate chips. TOGETHER. IT’S A TOPPING TORNADO!

Honestly, the only reason I’m talking about this is because I am SERIOUSLY craving pound cake. I have craving-pound-cake-itis.

In other, COMPLETELY unrelated news:

I have compiled a list of some of my FAVORITE words just for you!

Okay! Word #1:

Oxter. This word is a funny outdated term for armpit.

Word #2:

Bumfuzzle. This word means to confuse or perplex.

Word #3:

Tittynope. Yes. It. Is. A. Word. A Tittynope is a tiny EENSY WEENSY bit of leftovers. As in, the few drops of water in the glass, the last grain of rice in the rice container, or the powder from the crushed cereal at the bottom of the cereal box.

And finally, my pride and joy, Word #4:

WELP! Don’t look at me like that! It IS a word! (I looked it up.)

I usually say welp when I am filling in an awkward silence, or subtly agreeing with someone.

Okay, ’nuff said about words. Let’s talk Actor Of The Week.

Chelsea Peretti!

Chelsea is one of my FAVORITE comedians. My favorite role of hers is Gina Linetti on Brooklyn Nine-Nine

If you haven’t seen Brooklyn Nine-Nine. PLEASE watch it soon. Here is the trailer:

If I still haven’t convinced you, I will get down on the floor and BEG.

Chelsea Peretti has also been in Big Mouth, Spinster, New Girl, Gravity Falls, Game Night, and more! No, more isn’t a film, I’m just saying that there is other stuff she has been in. Check out all her other roles here!

Finally, I would like to share one of my favorite (I have a lot of favorites) SNL Skits!

Thanks for reading!

THIS JUST IN: CARAMEL; CAR-MEL OR CARE-UH-MEL?

I KNOW RIGHT! Your entire life has probably been a lie! You have either been saying CAR-MEL or CARE-UH-MEL, and only one of them is the CORRECT word for the chewy candy that everyone knows and loves. (Unless you have braces, like me, and envy the people that CAN have caramel.)

Are you ready? This next sentence is about to CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

The proper way to pronounce it is…

Caramel!

Wait, let me be more specific…Care-UH-mel.

CAR-mel is the name of the place in California, as in Carmel, California.

All of the secrets of the universe have been unlocked! You are now the secret keeper of the caramel pronunciation!!! Good for you! Bravo!

In other news, I don’t have very much exciting news. Though I haven’t posted in a while (sorry about that), nothing interesting has come up.

Let’s check the basics to make sure I haven’t missed anything.

Birthdays? Nope. (At least none that I know of other than Angelina Jolie.)

Holidays? National Cheese Day, but I refuse to dedicate part of a blog post to cheese.

Um…Any life changing events? Well, I got my first vaccine a little while back! (No, this time it isn’t an April Fool’s Day joke.) I was SUPER lucky, and only had a sore arm and a headache.

I guess that isn’t really LIFE CHANGING. Let’s talk about something else. Ooh! Ooh! Yesterday I was abducted by interdimensional cocktail umbrell-wait, sorry. I promised that I wouldn’t tell any humans about their plan to make earth spontaneously combust tomorrow, if they let me off their ship. Nevermind! Let’s talk about something else!

Oh I know! Dying! As in, if you watch this SNL Skit, you will DIE of LAUGHTER!

Seriously though, when you are done watching the skit, please take a second to appreciate the accuracy of the contentt. You might be laughing right now (or scrolling down to get to the SNL Skit because I am droning ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON and you just want to watch the freaking SNL Skit but you can’t because I am droning ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND-sorry, that joke was cruel. I’ll let you watch it now.

Also, spur of the moment decision, YOU GET TO SEE ANOTHER SNL SKIT! Wow. I am just SO generous. If you could fill a pair of really comfortable XXXXXXXXSL pajama pants with generosity, that is how much generosity I have. (EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA SUPREMELY LARGE, in case you were wondering.)

Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…(or at least have been waiting for since I started this sentence)…Actor Of The Week!

TJ Miller!

TJ Miller is an Actor, Comedian, Producer, and Writer. He has been in some of my favorite films and tv shows including Gravity Falls as Robbie, Deadpool as Weasel, The Emoji Movie as Gene, all of the How To Train Your Dragon movies as Tuffnut. He also plays i-R0k (I rock) in Ready Player One. Check out everything else he has been in with THIS LINK.

You can check out the trailer for Ready Player One here:

That’s all for now!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day, guys! I am so excited to tell you how my (or I guess my mom’s) Mother’s Day went! Yes, I know that today isn’t Mother’s Day and I know that I haven’t posted in a while, but between doing Mother’s Day stuff, and In-Person School, I have been SWAMPED! This is my third week of school in person! I love seeing my friends and doing art projects with the class! But let’s not get TOO sidetracked.

For Mother’s Day, I cleaned out my mom’s ENTIRE car! When she woke up, we gave her gifts. We also got her AMAZING Gluten-Free Cheesecakes that she LOVED. The cakes were from a Gluten-Free bakery called Muse. We got her four 4-inch cakes and one 8-inch Banana Pudding Cheesecake. The flavors of the 4-inch cakes were Guava, Mango Madness, Raspberry Beret, and Ginger White Chocolate! We set up the dining room table for a “cheesecake tasting”. (I use that term lightly because my mom ate the majority of the cheesecakes.) We then surprised her with the large Banana Pudding Cake after dinner!

For dinner, my parents had leftover pizza and I made Macaroni and Cheese with Tuna. (Tunaroni!) You all are probably gasping at the delicacies and fanciful rarities we ate for dinner! ; )

In other news, I found these Mother’s Day SNL skits about SIX months ago and have been WAITING AND WAITING to use them!

And finally, Actor Of The Week! Today’s Actress is…

Tessa Thompson!

She has been in a lot of amazing movies and tv shows including Veronica Mars (as Jackie Cook), Thor: Ragnarok (as Valkyrie), and Men In Black International (as Molly). You can find her other work here!!!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

-Grace

P.S. I heard about this lady who is trading stuff until she gets to a HOUSE she started with a bobby pin! She has traded cars, a peloton bike, an iphone, and more! This is a video of her journey from a bobby pin to a house!

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Almost a week ago, I learned that I have 2 EXTRA bones (growth plates) in my feet. I am “extra”. The condition is called Accessory Navicular. And if you are wondering, yes, it DID take more than one try to get that spelled right. One of the growth plates got mad at me and became a bit inflamed and was painful to walk in. Now, I have to wear a boot for the next 3 weeks so that the bone gets unflamed, deflamed, I seriously don’t know. Yay, is what I would say if the boot wasn’t making me sweat more than a kid does when their parent says PLAYDATE in front of someone cool. This is the picture of the boot:

SO. MUCH. VELCRO.

Lets Talk about PB&J!

Are you struggling with your sandwich-making abilities? If so, here is a helpful (but slightly gruesome) slideshow of how to properly make a PB&J. This slideshow was created by me and my friend Jonas…

After that (dark) slideshow, we can get into all of the other stuff I have planned!

This next segment is called: Let’s Guess Who That Famous Person Is From Their Childhood Photo!

Lets start with the easy and most obvious photos…

David Schwimmer!
Anne Hathaway!
Lindsay Lohan!
Neil Patrick Harris!

And now some slightly more difficult photos…

Elijah Wood!
Chris Pratt!
Sandra Bullock!
Benedict Cumberbatch

And finally, the Hardest level of photos!

Scarlett Johansson
Jennifer Aniston
Adele
Angelina Jolie
Jim Carrey!
Ben Stiller!

Congratulations for getting through the hardest photos! Up next: THAT SNL SKIT I FOUND AND WANT TO SHOW YOU!™

This week…

Finally, it’s time for… Actor Of The Week!

Marc Evan Jackson!

He has been in many fun things including The Good Place, Finding Ohana, The Babysitters Club, Kong: Skull Island, and other films. Check out his other films here. Do any of you feel like he just has one of those FACES? The one face that you feel like you have seen EVERYWHERE but you don’t remember his name? Well, now ya do!

By the way, here is the trailer for the Good Place Season 1!

Thank you SO MUCH for reading this post! I hope you enjoyed it!
