Mini Post: THE ULTIMATE POST OF BIRTHDAYNESS

Happy Birthday to everyone who has a birthday today. I know like .00000000000002 percent of people who have birthdays today and tomorrow, so I’m gonna stick with honoring them today.

Happy Birthday Hazel and Doc!

I know Hazel and Doc’s birthdays aren’t on the same day but I thought I could mush your birthday posts together to create the Ultimate Post Of Birthdayness

After the birthday post I am going to show you the decorations we put up for Hazel and Doc’s birthdays!

Happy Birthday Hazel!

Hazel, you are so kind and funny. I can’t believe you are 11 years old today! At 11:02 AM, 11 years ago, you came into this world and lit up out hearts and- Yeah, okay, I don’t like the mushy stuff either. Anywho, I hope you have fun today. Love, Mom and Dad’s Favorite.

(Hehe, just kidding.)

Happy Birthday Doc, My favorite Snorty Patorty (Snore-TEE Pa-TOR-tee)!

Doc, you can’t understand this yet, but today you are three. In your mind, a birthday probably just means cake and that you can do whatever you want, including yell at your sisters, splash half of the bath water at your sisters, kick your sisters, blame stuff on your sisters, and occasionally laugh when you fart. All of these are your favorite things to do. You are smart, funny, VERY SILLY, and most of all, you are a Snorty Patorty. No matter how many times you deny it, you will always snort when you laugh, therefore I’m deeming you a top-notch, first-class, A+ Snorty Patorty.

Onto decorations and (most importantly) cake!

Last night my parents and I hatched a clever plan. (Cue mission impossible music!)

All throughout dinner I said how tired I was (keep in mind that Hazel sleeps like a rock and Doc can’t get out of his crib by himself), so by the time that we had watched one episode of a tv show I was pretty much “asleep”. My mom said that I had to go to bed and Hazel reluctantly followed. I did my bedtime routine and got in bed checking to make sure that Hazel’s door was closed before going into my room. I then text mom to tell her I would come down soon and I waited about five minutes before turning off my lights, putting pillows under my blanket to make it look like I was sleeping under the covers…

…and creeping downstairs where my mom and dad were blowing up balloons and had a tv show and the vacuum cleaner on to drown out the noise of the balloon-blower-upper-thingy. My Mom also had someone come to our front yard and add two birthday signs to our lawn. While my Mom and Dad tidied up the house, I baked gluten-free cupcakes into gluten-free ice cream cones to make Hazel’s birthday treat. (I am making Doc’s treat tomorrow.) The house was really warm and all through the night I could hear balloons pop, but thankfully, only about five popped in all and it wasn’t very noticeable. At 6:30 AM the next day, I woke up early to dye frosting and decorate the cupcakes. Doc enjoyed the cupcakes A LOT. Seriously, I think that today going to be in the highlights of 2021 for him. These are the photos of the cupcakes and the balloon arch and decor that we made:

Doc’s Birthday Sign! (We told the sign person that Doc LOVES Halloween and Pirates.)
Hazel’s Birthday Sign (What would any 11 year old girl like? Unicorns, Unicorns, and more Unicorns.)
Doc and Mom eating a cupcake!
The Unicorn cupcake-in-a-cone that I made for hazel!
Me making the balloon arch at about 11:30 PM. I am already half asleep! 🙂
The Balloon Arch in all of it’s Balloon Archy Glory!

I hope you liked today’s post!

Happy Birthday!

(…or Happy Burf-day, if you are an almost 3-year-old named Doc who loves celebrating Birthdays because it usually means cake is involved.)

I have to say Happy Birthday to three of the most awesome people in the world.

Nana, Auntie, and Kim!

Auntie! (Shelly) She is my Grandma’s twin sister
Nana! (Carol) She is my Great Aunt’s twin sister
Kim (“Kimmy”) She is nobody’s twin sister

Kim- I am so lucky to have you in my life. You are so generous to my whole family and you are so smart. I love baking, laughing, and hanging out with you. I can’t believe I lucked out to have met you.

Auntie- You have an amazing taste in tv shows. (Like, seriously AMAZING.) And you are so kind and generous with your time.

Nana- You are an amazing editor and I can’t get over how skilled you are at cooking. Seriously guys, her salmon is TO. DIE. FOR.

I’m sorry that this post is belated, but I hope you spent your birthdays doing something you love.

In other news, I have a tv show recommendation. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a fantastic show. It follows a Jewish family in the 1950s as they face challenge after challenge. From comedy to catastrophe, this show is truly fabulous (if you don’t mind a few swear words.)

Speaking of tv shows, I have today’s Actor Of The Week!!!

Tony Shalhoub!

Tony Shalhoub has been in a lot of funny things (including the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, where he plays my favorite character Abe Weissman). He has also been in Galaxy Quest, Wings, Pain and Gain, Cars, and Monk. Check out Tony Shalhoub’s other films here.

Monk is a hysterical show about a VERY germaphobic detective named Adrian Monk. Tony Shalhoub stars as Adrain as he solves case after case.

Now, before I go, I want to talk about a hysterical meme that I was reminded of a while ago. A few weeks ago, I was watching Wreck it Ralph Breaks The Internet (trailer here) and at the end of the credits I saw something so insanely funny. It was…actually, think I’ll just let you watch the video.

It is a hysterical and (kind of old) meme called Rick Rolling. This is the definition: Rickrolling, alternatively rick-rolling or Rickroll, is a prank and an Internet meme involving an unexpected appearance of the music video for the 1987 Rick Astley song “Never Gonna Give You Up”. The meme is a type of bait and switch using a disguised hyperlink that leads to the music video.

This is the actual music video:

I hope you had fun reading today’s post!

Happy (belated) New Year From Portlandia

Happy belated New Year! I have SO MUCH stuff to talk about! I haven’t done a blog post in a while, with all of the holidays and family time, it’s been hard to catch a break. Let’s get started!

First up is New Year! I may or may not have stayed up until about 1:00 AM. If you disapprove of the idea of someone staying up until 1:00 AM, then I most definitely DID NOT stay up. I mean, that would be absurd. If you really don’t care what time I stay up until, then I still did not stay up super late (winkedy-wink-wink). I had some Martinelli (if you aren’t familiar with Martinelli, it is a sparkling apple cider) and I watched a movie until midnight. At that time, Doc had already gone to bed and Mom was doing her bedtime routine (get into pajamas, wash makeup off, go to the bathroom, brush teeth, get in bed, and watch tv or look at phone for an hour before actually going to sleep.) I think on New Year’s she was in the last stage of her routine. We all congratulated each other on kicking 2020 to the curb and finished watching our movie. Throughout the movie we got these two ads that made us crack up every time!

Every year we take photos with funny glasses. Check out all of our funny photos from this year and from past New Year’s starting at 2009-2016. Then it skips a few years until it gets to 2021. (I couldn’t find some of the photos.)

In other news, I got bangs!

I have also been looking at photos of Doc. It amazes me how much Doc has grown!

This is a picture of me and Hazel when we first saw Doc:

This is a photo timeline of Doc… (try not to become TOO obsessed with his cuteness!)

Doc is wearing a wig. He does get haircuts, y’know!

Now, Actor Of The Week!

*pause for dramatic effect

Jennifer Lawrence!

She has been in a bunch of stuff including The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, The Dark Phoenix, Mockingjay, Winter’s Bones, Red Sparrow, Passengers, and many other films. Check out her other stuff here!

You can find the trailer to one of Jennifer Lawrence’s movies, Mockingjay, right here:

I hope you like today’s fun and picture-filled post!

Make sure to subscribe to my blog so you can get emails about new posts! Doc, Hazel, Nana, Auntie, and Kim’s birthdays are coming up (but not in that order)and you don’t want to miss that!
